Seminars

The IAKS regurlarly holds seminars on the following subjects:

Artificial Turf Seminars
Ice Maker Training
Artificial Ice Rink Management Conference
IAKS/VDEM Refrigeration Plant Seminars

All seminars take place in various venues in Germany. The Seminar language is German. Please visit our German homepage for further details.

The IAKS is also co-organizer of further national and international events.

In cooperation with the IAKS, the German Football Association (DFB) has issued an artificial turf study addressing the key issues relating to the design, construction and operation of artificial turf pitches as well as general quality standards. Building on this study, the IAKS holds Artificial Turf Seminars. The seminars are targeted at local authorities and clubs and are designed to support the decision-making processes of clients and club managers concerned with the planning and realization of construction projects. The seminars supply independent assessment yardsticks for the serviceability of artificial turf from the functional and economic points of view and in terms of sustainability and environmental protection.

Ice Maker Training takes place every two years in the uneven years. The two-day events are devoted to current themes, problem areas and trends in artificial ice rinks and look at refrigeration plant, ice care, rights and duties, safety, ice making equipment, standardization, operating equipment and sound systems. They are international in character and are targeted at the plant managers and employees of artificial ice rinks. Those attending are also given the opportunity to find out about innovations from manufacturers at an international product exhibition. A demonstration of ice making equipment is also carried out with information on ice structure and ice care.

The Artificial Ice Rink Management Conference alternates with Ice Maker Training and takes place every two years in the even years. It is directed at operators and managers of artificial ice rinks. The main themes are the marketing, financing, operation and safety of ice rinks and ice halls. Here, again, the companies of the artificial ice rink industry present their latest innovations at an exhibition.

Refrigeration Plant Seminars are held by the IAKS in cooperation with the Association of Ice Makers (VDEM). By attending this event, operators, entrepreneurs and employees of ice sports facilities can satisfy their statutory obligation to ensure the necessary operational reliability. Along with BGR 500, the subjects dealt with include various regulations concerning occupational safety & health and environmental protection, and, among other things, the explosion protection document.
