Les récompenses sont attribuées dans les catégories ci-après, les équipements en compétition pouvant être aussi bien des constructions neuves que des réalisations existantes ayant fait l’objet de travaux d’agrandissement, de modernisation, de réhabilitation ou étant utilisées comme suit et relevant aussi bien du secteur public que privé :

A Major outdoor stadiums

With significant spectator facilities

B Community outdoor grounds
Outdoor grounds for sports and leisure activities, e.g. for ball games, athletics and other use
With or without spectator facilities

C Multipurpose halls and major arenas

With significant spectator facilities

D Indoor centres for sports, leisure and recreation
Indoor centres with multiple components for competition, training, trend sports, leisure, recreation and other use
