IAKS

The IAKS is the No. 1 contact when it comes to the design, construction, equipping and maintenance of sports facilities and sports-oriented leisure facilities. You can benefit from our almost 40 years of experience in the collection, evaluation and dissemination of information on sports facility construction worldwide.

With the following activities, the IAKS contributes to the creation of functional, cost-effective and environment-friendly sports and leisure facilities:

• Consultation on all aspects of sports facility construction – covering everything from individual projects to Olympic bids – by our Consultancy Centre manned by acknowledged experts from the ranks of our members and coordinated by our Office.

• Events such as congresses, conferences, seminars and exhibitions.
• The IOC/IAKS AWARD – the only international architecture award for existing sports and leisure facilities.
• „sports facilities and swimming pools“ (sb), our bimonthly journal, which is devoted to the latest trends and information on the key themes of sports grounds/stadia, sports halls, pools/saunas, facilities for special sports, and winter sports facilities.
• Communication of product information from our member companies from the sports facilitiy industry and architects specializing in sports facility issues.
• Publications on sports and leisure facilities.
• Work groups bringing together top-flight international specialists, whose work is published in the IAKS planning principles and other publications.

The IAKS has about 1,000 members in a current 110 countries. These members benefit from the IAKS's international outlook, the worldwide exchange of experience and the many services of the IAKS.
